Cleansing or Fasting? You Decide.
Traditionally, it's been called "Fasting." We prefer to call it Cleansing. Whatever you call it, the process of consciously abstaining from food for a specified period of time is one of the healthiest things you could ever do for yourself.
The easiest and safest way to start this type of cleansing is juice cleansing. Drinking green juices or other nutitious juices helps keep your body sustained with vital nutrients. And, there are many types of juice cleanses to do. But all juice cleansing has these important holistic health functions:
1. It initiates the body's natural self-cleaning cycle.
2. It opens us up, by cleaning us out, to download knowledge and information.
3. It empowers us to make and sustain important life changes.
4. It is a safe and natural way to lose weight.
For all time, people have been fasting (cleansing). Nearly every religion and cultural system has taught that fasting was an essential part of healthy living. But with modern science, we now know some of the more specific reasons why fasting is beneficial to our health.
Cleansing (Fasting) allows the walls of the intestines the opportunity to slough off built up mucous. This mucous, created during the digestion process, can become so thick on the wall of the intestines that it prevents nutrients from being readily absorbed.
Our ancestors never ate ALL the time. The result of constant food intake is a build-up of mucous in the lining of the intestines that prevents the absorption of nutrients from food. This results in a vicious cycle: because we're not getting the nutrients we need, we eat more food, which gives more calories (for energy) but also creates more mucous, which allows less nutrients to be absorbed. And the vicious cycle continues... not enough nutrients for the body -- so eating more foods -- so creating more mucous and eventually mucoid plaque on the walls of the intestines.
