Rey Allen

Certified Rolfer

As a certified Rolfer, Rey specializes in biomechanics.  He travels widely helping to teach biomechanics workshops to other Rolfers.  But, he still prefers his private practice and always makes time for his clients.  Originally, from Texas,  Rey now makes his home in New York City.

Rey first began his career as a health care provider in 1999, with a pursuit in nursing.  He worked for two years in a community hospital.  But, dissatisfied with this method of caring for health, he opted for a holistic practice as a massage therapist. After many years of having a full-time practice, Rey was still feeling unfulfilled.  He had an ardent desire to grow personally and more profoundly support the health of others.

It was only after getting Rolfed that Rey's life altered dramatically.  Rolfing left him feeling more comfortable and confident in his own skin.  His entire outlook on life changed as he experienced the resulting long-term change that Rolfing gave him. As soon as he could, Rey began studying Rolfing and quickly realized that Rolfing was boundless for learning potential.  He was hooked!  And his life took flight from there, with the extraordinary intention of re-aligning other people's physical relationship to gravity.

Rey graduated from the European Rolfing Assosication in 2002 and is a member of both The Rolf Institute of Structural Integration and The International Association of Structural Integrators.  Always learning, Rey is now pursuing an advanced study in visceral manipulation. 

Rey is an honest, friendly, spirited guy. He is self-reflective and sincerely believes in not taking one's self too seriously. As a Rolfer, he is challenging, practical and comfortable to work with.
